Sophia Moenssens, MA (she/her/hers) is Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern. Sophia graduated from Rollins College with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She enjoys working with children, adolescents, and their families to ensure they are working to their strengths to achieve their goals. Sophia began her counseling experience by doing crisis counseling and suicidality interventions during her undergraduate time at Florida State University. Upon graduating, she started working with children with behavioral concerns in various school settings. Seeing people of all ages benefit from the therapeutic relationship led Sophia to pursue her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Sophia uses a trauma-informed lens to her care, while integrating tools such as mindfulness, creative expression, and integrating the client’s areas of interest to create a personalized path to healing. Sophia believes in everyone’s ability to flourish, while recognizing the external and internal systems of oppression providing difficulties. Sophia is a strong advocate for her clients’ needs by integrating their mind, body, and environmental needs into the care she provides. Areas of interest include depression, anxiety, PTSD-related symptoms, ADHD, ODD, LGBTQIA+ identity development, and concerns with school.
