Madison Bessette (she/her/hers) is a graduate-level counseling intern at The Meaningful Life Center. Madison is currently completing her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Capella University. She previously obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Central Florida. Her desire to be a mental health counselor began when she was an adolescent and was more deeply fostered during her Bachelor’s degree program. Madison takes a humanistic and integrative approach to therapy, with a passion for attachment theory. She approaches counseling this way with the understanding that each client will have specific goals, values and desires to fulfill during the therapeutic relationship. Her goal with her clients is to create a safe space to process life experiences and emotions. Her areas of interest are in depression, anxiety and relationship concerns. In her free time, Madison enjoys doing spoken word poetry and creative writing, as well as tending to her abundance of outdoor plants and her dog Pita whom is like her shadow. Her hope for therapy is that her clients foster a deeper level of self-acceptance, self-discovery and develop their worldview. Madison is an LGBTQA+, kink affirming and polyamorous relationship affirming counselor.
